Tesori D’Abruzzo and D’Abruzzo are two tourism magazines which highlight aspects of the Abruzzo region. Actually they focus on all things associated with tourism, culture, environment, wine and food. Or as they put it, touismo, cultura, ambiente e enogastronomia. Although D’Abruzzo has a scattering of article summaries in English, they are fundementaly Italian magazines, for Italians, and so, naturally, they’re written in Italian.
But don’t let that put you off. For about €5 you’ll get a beautifully produced magazine that is full of articles and pictures covering many “hidden” gems. They’re a great souvenir of what is, without doubt, a fabulous region of Italy. Have a read of what Paolo de Sienna says is the reason for publishing Tesori D’Abruzzo.
Even if you do not speak Italian you’ll get a feel for the region through excellent photography. With a dictionary to hand and a map, you can easily discover places of interest that may not get the attention they deserve in the usual tourist brochures. Of course if you read Italian at all you’re in for a treat. But for students of the Italian language, these magazines offer a great way of learning more about Abruzzo and improving your vocabulary at the same time.
All of this for around €5 can’t be bad.
