I admire the work of the Italian Red Cross and that’s why I’ve committed to donate all profits from my Abruzzo 2011 Calendar to that humanitarian organisation.
This video was posted on the YouTube channel of the The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies on 28 September 2010.
Through a series of inter-related stories the video highlights the challenges faced by the communities of Onna and San Gregorio in restoring their lives, showing both the achievements and the limitations of the shelter response.
This version is slightly different from the one posted on the Italian Red Cross site entitled La ricostruzione dell’anima as it has English subtitles.
Thank you for sharing this thoughtful video. It really gave me more of an insight into how things are developing post-earthquake. I’ll be in Aquila next week, and so will be able to see for myself how the reconstruction work is going.
Your lovely calendar is a fab initiative to help the Red Cross in its mission to help the people of Aquila.
