I’ve been a bit busy and I hope you like what I’ve been doing.
The About Abruzzo logo has had an overhaul.
I’ve had the new logo design for a while (many thanks Brian) but I’ve finally updated the About Abruzzo web site, the Facebook site and Twitter.
It’s a simple design, and sometimes the simple approach is best.
Looking at it (top left – go on, take a peek) you see the A of Abruzzo made from a mountain and the sea. The dominant colour is green, representing the lush Abruzzo countryside. The background is white – well Abruzzo does get its fair share of snow! Add to that two words Forte and Gentile (strong and gentle or perhaps more appropriately strong and neighbourly) and I think I have a logo that truly represents the region and the purpose of my blog.
I’ve also been busy elsewhere. I’ve taken quite a number of photographs of various aspects of Abruzzo and although I regularly put a selection of them on display on this blog’s Photo Album I feel that some of them could be put to an alternative use.
I don’t know about you but I love to pick up a memento of places I visit and the most common type of memento I go for is a T-shirt.
But there are so many ugly T-shirts out there, and I’ve so many lovely photographs…I bet you know where I’m going with this.
T-shirts!
So I’ve created five products to start with, four T-shirts and a key chain to be exact. The keychain (key ring) has the new logo – that’s straight forward enough.
The T-shirts have one of my photographs on the front that has been tweaked to make it look a little more interesting. On the back you’ve got the new logo and a reference to aboutabruzzo.com.
Perhaps not entirely haute couture but certainly the height of good taste!
Here’s one of them.
You can see all of them on my new The Shop page and there you can also find out how you can order from your local Zazzle store.
More products will follow over time and I’ve no doubt the look and feel of The Shop will change also – so drop back now and again to see what’s happening.
This is a new venture and I’m very excited by it.
Post a comment and let me know what you think.
Also don’t forget about the Abruzzo 2011 Calendar with all profits going to charity. Click here to preview the calendar, find out more and order your copy. They make great presents and Christmas is just around the corner.

I think it is a great idea! Hopefully you will have some stocks in hand so one may get a chance to buy in person! And I have a suggestion for one of the T shirt logos but it will have to wait till I see both of you…as not sure it is politically correct for the rest of Europe. Good luck!
Thanks CKC. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and finally gave it the time and effort it deserved.
Regarding buying in person – the beauty of Zazzle is it is stock free – they make them as they are ordered so if you like the T-shirts ordering online is definitely the way to go.
OK, I admit it, I’m curious about what your suggestion will be.
