As I type this I’m listening to Canti Popolari by La Voce del Gran Sasso. No shortage of accordions here plus maybe a tambourine or two. This is definitely folk music from Abruzzo. From looking at their website it looks like the ages of the musicians and singers range from 7 to 14 years. At least [...] I can’t believe it’s almost a month since I last posted. There certainly have been a number of distractions, Christmas and New Year being the obvious ones, but I didn’t realise I’d left it so long. So to not delay any more I thought I’d share a selection of photographs that I took while in [...] I recently bought two contrasting CDs in Discover, Via L’Aquila, Pescara. The first is Egocentrica by Simona Molinari. This CD has grown on me over the last month. It can be hard to truly appreciate music sung in a foreign language but I really enjoy this album.
