Out and about today I took this photo of Loreto Aprutino from the church of Santa Maria in Piano. Olive Trees and a clear sky bounded the town beautifully. It seemed only right and proper that I reciprocated and so a little later on I took a photo of Santa Maria in Piano from Loreto [...] On 19 May 2010 I met the artist Paul Critchley for the first time. It was chance meeting but it led to a most unexpected afternoon. Four of us, enough to fill a cinquecento, hoped to spend much of the day outdoors, enjoying the Gran Sasso and the Abruzzo countryside.
