I don’t know much about the band Terre Del Sud other than they were formed in 2003 when a group of friends with an interest in reproducing traditional music of Southern Italy got together. I picked that up from their website. But I feel I know a bit more about them than their basic bio and that’s because [...] One of the first things I learned about Campo Imperatore, L’Aquila was that it was the location for many movies. Later, when I said to a friend of mine from Abruzzo that I was heading off to visit Rocca Calascio I was told that Ladyhawke was filmed there. I didn’t swoon at the thought of [...] As I type this I’m listening to Canti Popolari by La Voce del Gran Sasso. No shortage of accordions here plus maybe a tambourine or two. This is definitely folk music from Abruzzo. From looking at their website it looks like the ages of the musicians and singers range from 7 to 14 years. At least [...] |
